Automatic Recall System
Our practice uses a recall and reminder system to make sure we are looking after your health by promoting continuity of care. The system encourages you to be actively involved in decisions about your health.
Information from your health records tell us which check-ups you are due and when you should visit your doctor. This will help to make sure that important health checks are not forgotten and are performed on time.
The reminder system will also mention tests required to help prevent or detect certain conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and some forms of cancer (particularly cervical and prostate cancer) as well as treatments such as follow-up immunisations.
In some cases, you may also receive reminders in addition to those generated from our practices, for example the Queensland Government Pap Smear Register (for the detection of cervical cancer).
Our doctors follow the guidelines outlined in the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners ‘guidelines for preventive activities in general practice’. These guidelines are based on the recommendations of organisations such as the National Health and Medical Research Council, the National Heart Foundation and others.
Please discuss with your doctor any concerns you have or any further information you would like about the recall and reminder system.
